Working in Italy thanks to the Fulbright scholarship, November 9, 2007

(Interview with Megan Chiusaroli)

She was enthusiastic about her experience as English teaching assistant in Rome: Megan Chiusaroli arrived in Italy from New York on September 30 thanks to a Fulbright scholarship.

Why did you decide to apply for the the Fulbright scholarship?
I thought that it would be a good opportunity to improve my Italian and to live in your country for a year. I like Italy very much!

Did you choose the city of destination? What do you do here exactly?
No, I did not choose the city. The Fulbright Commission assigned me to Rome. I was very lucky! I won the scholarship as English teaching assistant and I currently work in the Cavour and Kennedy High Schools. I teach conversation and give short lectures.

How is your experience in Italy going? Have you encountered any difficulties?
It is going well. In case of need, Fulbright is always there to help.

What would you like to do in the future? Would you like to do repeat this kind of experience?
Yes, I hope to come back to your country with other similar programs.

The best of luck to Megan and to the other 59 recipients of the Fulbright scholarship who participate in the integration and cultural exchange programs between Italy and the U.S.
