Security Notice: Rallies in Milan on Monday, March 26, 2007

On Monday, March 26, 2007, there are two peaceful authorized rallies and one sit-in organized by the Mayor of Milan and the Milanese Neighborhood Committees scheduled as follows:

  • Sit-in – from 17:30 to 20.00 – Piazza della Scala – approximately 1,000 people will be in attendance.
  • A human chain – from 17.30 to 20.00 – starting from Piazza della Scala – Case Rotte – chain – Corso Matteotti ending at the Prefettura in Corso Monforte organized by the Milanese Neighborhood Committees with approximately 2,000-2,500 people in attendance.
  • Rally – from 19:30 to 22:00 – starting from Corso Venezia ending in Piazza Argentina with approximately 2,000 people in attendance.

The purpose of these rallies is to call for an increase in “security” within the City of Milan. Police authorities will be monitoring the situation.
