Demonstration Notices - Archive

Large Demonstrations Scheduled in Rome on Saturday, April 4

Please be advised that there is a large demonstration scheduled for Saturday, April 4, from 07:00 to 14:00. The demonstration has been planned by a major Union (CGIL) and will start at 5 different locations (following 5 different routes), all ending together at Circo Massimo. Organizers are expecting thousands of people to participate, including a large number of university students from around Italy. There will be extra police presence for this demonstration. The planned routes are:

  • Piazzale dei Partigiani to viale Aventino
  • Piazza Ragusa to Piazza di Porta Capena
  • Piazza della Repubblica to via di San Gregorio
  • Piazza delle Crociate to Piazza di Porta Capena
  • Piazza dei Navigatori to Piazza di Porta Capena

American citizens should consider avoiding these areas, including Circo Massimo, on Saturday, April 4, 2009.
